ISLAMABAD, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Friday strongly condemned Israel's attack on the occupied northern West Bank, according to the country's Foreign Ministry.
The Israeli army force stormed the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank on Thursday and killed nine Palestinians, including an elderly woman, and wounded 16, four of them in serious condition.
"The government and the people of Pakistan extend sincere and heartfelt condolences to the families of victims and best wishes for full and swift recovery of the injured in this brutal attack," according to a statement from the ministry.
Pakistan called upon the international community to assume its responsibility in bringing these actions by the Israeli forces to a halt and ensuring adequate protection of the human rights of the Palestinian people, said the statement.
Pakistan also reiterated its strong and unwavering support for the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people for the full realization of their fundamental rights.
