KHARTOUM -- Sudan's Forces of Freedom and Change alliance (FFC) on Saturday stressed its adherence to handing over the presidency of the Sovereign Council to civilians, restructuring of the regular forces, and handing over the wanted figures of the former regime to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Mohamed Naji El Asam, a member of the Leadership Council of the alliance, made the remarks at a press conference in the Sudanese capital Khartoum. (Sudan-Sovereign Council-FFC)

ANKARA -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday said he instructed the Turkish foreign minister to declare 10 ambassadors of Western countries in the capital Ankara as "persona non grata" after they made a joint statement for the release of a jailed businessman.

"I gave the necessary order to our foreign minister. I said what must be done. These 10 ambassadors must be declared persona non grata. You will sort out immediately," Erdogan said during a speech in the central Eskisehir province. (Turkey-Ambassador)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli security forces said on Saturday that they have thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs and weapons from Lebanon into Israeli territory.

Israeli troops on patrol observed suspects carrying bags from Lebanon into Israel at midnight between Friday and Saturday in Metula, a northern Israeli city near the Israeli-Lebanese border, Israel's military said in a statement. (Israel-Lebanon-Drug Smuggling)

RIYADH -- The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced on Saturday that it destroyed four Houthi vessels in the Red Sea and a site for bomb-laden boats in the Yemeni city of Hodeidah.

The coalition confirmed that the military operations had contributed to the protection of the navigation lines and international trade in Bab al-Mandab Strait and the southern Red Sea, the Saudi Press Agency tweeted. (Yemen-Houthi-Destroying Vessels)
