BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- China Unicom, one of the country's largest telecom operators, reported a net growth in the number of 4G subscribers in 2020.
The net increase of 4G subscribers totaled 16.42 million last year, with December alone seeing an increase of 1.12 million, according to the report the company filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
By the end of December 2020, the company had reported 270.18 million 4G subscribers, said the report.
As of October last year, China Unicom had installed 330,000 5G base stations. The number is expected to exceed 380,000 by the end of 2020.
